27 Months of waiting. Can you believe it? To think that when we started this adoption process we were told it would be 14 - 16 months. Ugh! If that were true, our child would have been home last year around the time that the Olympics took place. I wish.
Our physician finally got back to us today regarding another file that I sent to him four days ago! It's a moot point, really, because that child was already locked in by another family. (I let him know my displeasure about it taking so long, too. He claims he only received the file on Wednesday...until I told him to look at the time stamp from the fax...then he was VERY apologetic!) Anyway...he did not have favorable things to say about the health of this child. He wasn't concerned about the hypospadias. He was, however, concerned about this child having crystals in his urine which can indicate possible kidney dysfunction or abnormalities - - the seriousness yet to be determined. He was even more concerned about the child being Hep B positive and he advises against considering children with that condition. He stated that the condition had nothing to do with the child, per se, but it says something about the birth parents because it can only be passed through blood transfer or sexual contact (he cautions that with there being so many unknowns, we would never know if the child's birth parents were IV drug abusers or if they were in the sex trade - - all very good things to consider). Again...it's all a moot point now.
